TIP #7 FROM PARENTING SIMPLIFIED: WHY BEING KIND TO YOURSELF IS IMPORTANT

We're wrapping up our weekly tip series with family therapist Lily Morgan of Parenting Simplified (check out all of her previous posts here), and we're finishing things off with a simple piece of advice for all of you mamas.

We focus so much on being attentive to our children and treating our kiddos with kindness, but we need to do the same for ourselves too. Below, Lily discusses the importance of being kind to yourself and taking time for YOU. Take it away, Lily!

TREAT YOURSELF TO SOME TLC

Moms, be nice to yourselves! Do something to take care of yourself everyday, whether that's enjoying a cup of tea and a quiet moment in the afternoon, a long soak in a hot bath at night, or even just a few minutes of alone time to journal and take some deep breaths. Parenting is hard work. Mommy guilt doesn’t help you or your kiddos, so give yourself a break. Remember, parenting is a journey and we learn as we go.

"Mommy guilt doesn't help you or your kiddos, so give yourself a break."

Thank you, Lily! Check out Lily's blog for more simple and smart parenting advice.

Have a parenting question for Lily? We're hosting a live Q&A with Parenting Simplified on Instagram on Friday, September 8. Be sure to stop by!
